Workshops

Community Development – Sung Kwon
This ministry promotes individual and community members with skills to become self-sufficient. Jesus dealt with the whole person, not only the spiritual aspect of human life, but also physical, social, and mental aspects of the human being. Jesus and His disciples were focusing on holistic ministry. They implemented ministries and as a by-product of these ministries, organized congregations were developed. The purpose of the church was not to practice religious ritual systematically and mechanically, but a lighthouse to bring people to Jesus and to build the Kingdom of God. Therefore, the purpose of holistic ministry is not only to proclaim the Good News, the Word of Salvation, but also to demonstrate the love of God to people who are in need. Glenn Rogers says, “It is balanced outreach that involves a proclamation of the Gospel as well as a demonstration of God’s love and concern for every soul. It is seeing and ministering to the whole persons.”

Eldercare – Wynelle Stevens
This ministry promotes Christ-centered, practical and sustainable solutions to successful holistic aging.  It coordinates education and services related to aging, health, finance and social issues for seniors and caregivers within their church and community.

Disaster Response – W. Derrick Lea
This ministry provides services to assist individuals, families and communities affected by natural disasters and unforeseen tragedies. Engages volunteers to be prepared in mediation, preparedness, response and long-term recovery.
