FORT PIERCE CHURCH SPONSORS FREE HEALTH CLINIC

Fort Pierce Church sponsors the Good Samaritan Free Health Clinic every Wednesday afternoon at the church from 2:00-7:00 p.m. by appointment. Devoted to adult-only primary care, the clinic offers nonemergency medical service for individuals between ages 18 and 64.
“OUR MISSION is to provide outstanding patient care through commitment and compassion to low income individuals who do not qualify for health coverage.”
“OUR VISION is to encourage people to understand the concept of complete wellness, and to establish a healthier lifestyle (physical, spiritual, and mental) for themselves and their families.”
Fort Pierce members George and Eva Bryant are managers of the clinic, and Colin Myles is chairman of the health clinic board. Dwight Dawkins, M.D., a member of Southeastern Conference’s Macedonia Church, is medical director.
In setting up the clinic, Isaiah 58 became the members’ guide, pointing to “no more church-as-usual.” The compassionate and caring volunteers provide free-of-charge services. They are licensed physicians, nurses, teachers, certified nursing assistants, and fitness instructors. Local business owners also participate, committed to sharing their expertise with those in need.
