Dear Conference Family,

As our efforts to assist the victims of Hurricane Melissa in several Caribbean islands—especially Jamaica—continue, we would like to update you on a few key activities currently underway:

1. Collection and Shipping of Supplies
We have begun receiving donations from churches and transporting them to the shipping containers in Miami. The first container is already one-quarter full. Our next pickup from the Broward hubs is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, between 2:00–3:40 p.m. Please ensure that all supplies from area churches are delivered to Ambassador SDA Church by 12:00 noon on Thursday.

2. Food Packing Event at FLA – A Success!
This past Sabbath, November 15, nearly 700 volunteers from Central Florida churches joined forces at Forest Lake Academy to pack approximately 150,000 meals for Jamaica. We praise God and thank everyone who participated!

3. Upcoming Food Packing in South Florida
This coming Sabbath, Adventists—along with invited friends and relatives—will gather at Greater Miami Adventist Academy to pack thousands more meals for Jamaica. Your continued participation and prayers are appreciated.

4. Urgent Donation Needs
As you promote ongoing relief efforts, please include tarps, sleeping bags, and tents of all sizes on the list of urgently needed items.

5. Fundraising Concert – South Florida
The South Florida community is hosting a grand fundraising concert on Sabbath, November 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Ambassador SDA Church. Please attend with guests and bring a generous offering to support our brothers and sisters in need.

6. Sorting & Packing Day – Volunteer Opportunity
On Sunday, November 23, volunteers will gather at Miami Temple Church to sort, pack, and prepare donated items for shipment to Jamaica. This is a wonderful service opportunity as well for our Pathfinders and youth. Please get in touch with Jael Williams for more details and to sign up your teams to serve.

Thank you for your continued prayers, generosity, and support. For the latest updates and evolving needs, please visit floridaconference.com/relief.

About Us

The Adventurer Club is a Seventh-day Adventist Church-sponsored ministry open to all families of children in grades 1-4. Our mission is to support parents and caregivers in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ.
The first few years of a child’s life sets the stage for their future.  For parents/families of pre-K through fourth grade children, our Adventurer Clubs provide a safe place to encourage the development of the necessary social and interpersonal skills they need, in an environment that promotes Christian values and responsibilities.
Families will learn a variety of topics together, from character building, nature, hobbies, safety, and much more. This club also has parenting tips and resources through the family network and is designed to help you be the best parent/caregiver you can be as you partner with your child and other families to grow your kids to be the best they can be. Most clubs meet twice a month.
