Commentary and Reflection:

It’s evident that God added the gift of administration to his blessing upon Joseph. Wherever he went, he prospered – in Potiphar’s house, in prison, and then at the head of Egypt’s economy. The key to his success lay first in God’s blessing, then in his integrity, and in his gift for administration.

Not all of us have this gift fully developed, but we all must practice it. We all receive blessings and gifts from God, whether material or spiritual, and it’s our responsibility to manage them. Therefore, we can all learn best practices from Joseph.
Here are valuable lessons in Joseph’s advice to Pharaoh:
1. Life is cyclical, there will be good and bad times.

2. We should capitalize on good times by working hard.

3. In times of abundance, prepare for times of scarcity.

4. No amount of money or resources will be enough if not managed well.

5. A good administration can save a family, while a poor administration can destroy it.

6. Any family or organization benefits when the best manager oversees its administration.

7. Administration must be exercised with generosity and compassion.

How great must have been the conflict of emotions in Joseph’s mind when he recognized his brothers! Once again, resentment did not triumph; forgiveness did.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9,10

May we all do our best to add the practice of good administration to God’s blessings.

May God grant you a truly blessed day.

About Us

The Adventurer Club is a Seventh-day Adventist Church-sponsored ministry open to all families of children in grades 1-4. Our mission is to support parents and caregivers in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ.
The first few years of a child’s life sets the stage for their future.  For parents/families of pre-K through fourth grade children, our Adventurer Clubs provide a safe place to encourage the development of the necessary social and interpersonal skills they need, in an environment that promotes Christian values and responsibilities.
Families will learn a variety of topics together, from character building, nature, hobbies, safety, and much more. This club also has parenting tips and resources through the family network and is designed to help you be the best parent/caregiver you can be as you partner with your child and other families to grow your kids to be the best they can be. Most clubs meet twice a month.
