Message from the President
Dear Florida Conference family,
Our hearts are heavy as we see the suffering caused by Hurricane Melissa across Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, The Bahamas, and other affected communities around the Caribbean. Families have lost homes, livelihoods, and even loved ones. Yet, in times of great suffering, we are reminded that Jesus’ light still shines through His people.
Florida Conference remains committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus when disaster strikes. Our Community Services & Disaster Response team, led by Dr. Conrad Duncan, Dr. John Mills, and Jael Williams, is leading our relief efforts to deliver essential supplies, food, and assistance to those in greatest need.
As we continue to respond to this disaster, Florida Conference has set up donation hubs at eight local churches, is supporting the organization No Child Hungry to pack and assemble meal kits for Jamaica, and is carefully directing resources and donations to where they are most needed.
Your prayers, donations, and time given in volunteering are powerful ways to make a difference. You can visit floridaconference.com/relief to learn more, donate, sign up to volunteer, or find a collection site near you.
On behalf of Florida Conference Administration, thank you for your prayers, support, and compassionate hearts.
May God bless you as you continue to serve as a light in the darkness,
Orlando Lopez
Florida Conference President
