Dear Florida Conference family,
As Hurricane Milton approaches and threatens to make landfall in Florida, we want to ensure your safety. Please take all necessary precautions and follow evacuation orders and other directives from your county. We also ask that you join us in prayer for all in the storm’s path.
Our Disaster Response team, which is currently mobilized and providing aid after the most recent hurricane, Helene, wants to encourage you to keep in mind the following safety tips:
- Make a plan. Visit floridaconference.com/ready for a hurricane plan guide, emergency kit checklist, important links, and more.
- Be secure. Secure your home and surroundings, stock up on non-perishable food and water, and gather emergency items such as a first aid kit, medications, flashlight, important documents, etc.
- Prepare for all circumstances. Fill your gas tank, have cash on hand, and have a plan should there be an evacuation order for your community.
- Know Your Zone, Know Your Home. Stay informed regarding evacuation orders for your area. Check the map at https://www.floridadisaster.org/knowyourzone/.
Our administration, in conjunction with Florida Adventist Community Services and Disaster Response, is praying for you. We will send more information regarding our relief efforts as soon as the team can assess the damage after the storm.
Your well-being is important to us. Remember to make a plan, be secure, prepare properly, stay informed, and call upon the Lord and His mighty hand to keep you, your family, and community out of harm’s way.
Florida Conference is here to support you. You can contact the Community Services and Disaster Response team by email: Conrad.Duncan@floridaconference.comor Janeth.Montenegro@floridaconference.com or by calling 407-618-0210.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Administration
