Beth-El Shalom Congregations in St. Petersburg and New Port Richey welcomed Jerry Rawicki, a Holocaust survivor, who shared God’s miraculous hand of protection in his life.
When I learned that Jerry had survived the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, I told him my first thought was, “No one survived the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.” And it is true, almost no one did.
Jerry survived by one miracle after another. His powerfully moving story brought tears to him and many in the congregation. A documentary of his story can be seen at: https://youtu.be/w9es0TQkj8s
Jerry said this experience moved him toward a belief in God. He asked me about our faith and readily accepted the Jewish Heritage Scripture Studies and Rachel Hyman’s CD with songs of the Holocaust. He is reading the studies and enjoying the CD.
