“Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel” was the command given by Jesus. Margate, Fla., Church has challenged each member to think about how they can personally do their part. Some of the programs the church has introduced to encourage participation include:
Anthony Catthouse of the Personal Ministries Department decided to engage the needy where they live. Up to 20 other members join him to feed the homeless on the second Wednesday of every month.
Teaming up with LifeNet4Families, more than 230 men and women are fed in an area of Fort Lauderdale where most homeless wander the streets. After they eat, volunteers distribute Bible tracts. “Thank you for your dedication and commitment,” says Director Chris Polzer of LifeNet4Families.
Another team of individuals, including Margate Pathfinders, visited Good Hope Manor, an assisted living center, for ministry to the elderly through praise, prayer, and spoken word. Some residents, in appreciation for their only visit in months, were brought to tears as they extended their arms for hugs. Nessa Cohen organizes this program on the first and last Sabbath of each month.
The Women Ministries Department held a picnic for the elderly at Hugh Taylor Burch Park in Ft. Lauderdale. Each senior was treated as pampered royalty during this quality time spent with family and caring volunteers. A mini program featured their lives in review and recognized the attendees for their patience, grace, and knowledge. Gifts were awarded to the eldest male and female, and Margate Pastor Andrew Nugent prayed for a blessing on each guest.

About Us

The Adventurer Club is a Seventh-day Adventist Church-sponsored ministry open to all families of children in grades 1-4. Our mission is to support parents and caregivers in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ.
The first few years of a child’s life sets the stage for their future.  For parents/families of pre-K through fourth grade children, our Adventurer Clubs provide a safe place to encourage the development of the necessary social and interpersonal skills they need, in an environment that promotes Christian values and responsibilities.
Families will learn a variety of topics together, from character building, nature, hobbies, safety, and much more. This club also has parenting tips and resources through the family network and is designed to help you be the best parent/caregiver you can be as you partner with your child and other families to grow your kids to be the best they can be. Most clubs meet twice a month.
