You may want take a moment to analyze your utility bills to see if you’re being charged sales tax. You should have a sales tax exemption certificate that makes the church sales tax exempt. Not having to pay sales tax can be a significant savings over time, money that may be put to other use to enhance a ministry. If you don’t have a sales tax exemption certificate please contact Maria Pino at maria.pino@floridaconference.com and she will assist you in acquiring this State document. If you find that you are being charged sales tax, please contact your utility company and they will walk you through the process on waiving the sales tax. Some companies have even refunded some or all of the prior sales tax to our churches. This savings has been a blessing to many churches and we hope that you will take advantage of it.
