Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Proverbs 19:21 ESV
**Happy “Heart” Week (Valentines Week) I trust your heart is overflowing with love from your friends and family. It has been another busy travel weekend. I am glad to be back in the office to catch up. The plans for VBS Showcase 2017 on March 11, 2017 @ 3PM are complete…the only thing lacking is to see you at the event. The plan is to give away VBS/VBX kits as a drawing at the event. You must be present to win. (There will be several kits given away.) See you there! God has made you with a purpose….just the way you are. I need to be reminded of this often. Life has a way of getting us down. Please know that you are loved and highly thought of each and every day.
Caterpillars and Butterflies
Feb 15, 2017 06:00 am Pacific Press
Have you ever watched a caterpillar? Not very attractive, is it? But then it forms its cocoon, and pretty soon a metamorphosis takes place, and that caterpillar changes into a beautiful butterfly! God looks at you and says, “I have a beautiful plan for your life. You’re going to be a princess! You might be wallowing in the mud right now, but I want to transform you into a dazzling woman, radiant with My glory and My purity.” That’s what Jesus can do! Look to Jesus. See Him in His purity. Study Jesus’ life. Spend time in His Word and with others who are seeking Him. Behold Him as you work, as you drive, as you talk, and your life will be transformed into His image. Be open to the Holy Spirit’s work in your heart and life.
Object Lesson Activity: In advance of the session, cut out enough basic “people” shapes so that you can give one to each of your class. Provide crayons. Before class starts, color an example person so that it looks like you. Do similar hair color, eye color, clothes etc. Show this to the class so they know what you want them to do. Give each child one of your “people” shapes, and help them color it so that it looks like them. God made you just the way you are…GOD Loves you, No Matter What!
Finger Prints: Materials: White copy paper, washable paint or ink pad, magnifying glasses Procedure: Have each student make a handprint and a fingerprint from the paint on the white paper. Use these prints to place on the table for the students to explore with magnifying glasses. Ask the students if the prints look the same or different. Are they all the same size? Take turns looking at all the prints. Write “God made us!” on their papers. “Do you think your fingerprints are the same as your friend’s fingerprints?” Try to always remember that we are very important to God!”
Cup Puppets: Materials: Styro-foam cups, ribbon, yarn, cloth, buttons, construction paper, scissors, glue Procedure: Beforehand, make a hole in the middle of one side of the cup. The hole should be big enough for a student’s pointer finger to go through. Placing this finger through the hole will create the nose of the puppet. Let the students create hair, facial features, clothing, etc. and glue these to the cup. Allow the students to hide behind a puppet theater or table to put on a show! “God gave each person different looks, traits, and personalities. Let’s create our own people and have a play.” Prayer: Thank You, God, for showing me it’s okay to be different than others. I like who I am! Amen.

About Us

The Adventurer Club is a Seventh-day Adventist Church-sponsored ministry open to all families of children in grades 1-4. Our mission is to support parents and caregivers in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ.
The first few years of a child’s life sets the stage for their future.  For parents/families of pre-K through fourth grade children, our Adventurer Clubs provide a safe place to encourage the development of the necessary social and interpersonal skills they need, in an environment that promotes Christian values and responsibilities.
Families will learn a variety of topics together, from character building, nature, hobbies, safety, and much more. This club also has parenting tips and resources through the family network and is designed to help you be the best parent/caregiver you can be as you partner with your child and other families to grow your kids to be the best they can be. Most clubs meet twice a month.
