God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.
Psalm 46: 1-3
There may be total chaos within ourselves and in our lives, but we still don’t need to fear. God reminds us that even within chaos, He is present. Waters roaring and mountains shaking—chaos! Whether real or imagined. And in the midst of chaos, He is there.
But is He really? What about God being a God of order and not confusion? This is true. He delights in order and perfection. But He is always with us, even in our disordered and imperfect lives. He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. And we can rely on Him and His Word. He will strengthen us daily. He will replace our fear with courage, boldness, and a renewed trust in Him if we allow Him. He will be our strength. He will be our help.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for always being with us even in the midst of chaos. Thank You for Your
strength and defense. Thank You.
